menopause; heavy bleeding

I haven't experienced this due to menopause, but I do have endometriosis; and the first day of my period is almost always HELL. This is when your body first begins to get rid of the uterine lining, so the cramps will be worse and the flow will be heavier.

My best advice is to take it easy when you can. Elevate your legs and use a heating pad -- not only for the cramps but increasing the temperature of the area actually helps maintain a more steady blood flow. Warm showers can help with this, too. Also, I use pads on the first day instead of tampons and change them often. When I have heavy bleeding, tampons feel like they expand too quickly and get uncomfortable after no time at all. I hope this helped!

Raspberry juice, and Rasp. tea help to thin the blood and make it less painful.
Also heat on the tummy helps. If you can try and rest these days , minimizing activity.
I also found that even though in menopaus, going back on the birth control pill helped hugely. This was also recommened by my specialist. I am on Yassmin.
Then also you can know whether you are coming or going with irregular cycles.

oh, that must be terrible
drink lots of water so you minimise clots
have you tried aspirin tablets? the doctors say that it thins the blood so its not as heavy (although i just read on the website below to avoid aspirin as it makes it heavier - so ignore my suggestion to taking aspirin)

im not sure what to do but you should speak with your doctor as to what remedies may work which suit you

goodluck :)
