Nothing, it is exactly the same. The only difference is that Regal can put it on quicker and can find ways to put it on while Cena waits until the opponent is face down on the mat, so to answer your question the difference is that Regal can put on the STF more effectively. I hope that answers your question.

The STF was invented by wrestling legend Lou Thesz and Regal executes it flawlessly. The difference is that Thesz and Regal were/are real wrestlers and Cena is not.

Cena doing the move and calling it the STFU seems like a slap in the face to the late Lou Thesz to me. JMO

well its the same... but john cena changed it to the STFU coz if u add a U then it would stand for Shut the "F" up.. similar to the F-U meaning "F" You and so it fits in with he's style. and william regal will put it on anytime... not just when hes opponent is weak... john cena only performes it after an F-U and the opponent rolls over on their belly,,, ive only seen him not apply it after the F-U once or twice but that woz wen he was desperate

It's the same.Except William Regal can perform it at a suprise, just like Kurt Angle's ankle lock,he can put it at any chance he get.

No technical difference, they're both step-over-toehold-facelocks, except that Regal is much better at making it look realistic, and Cena has given his a stupid name in a failed attempt at wit. And leese69 has a brilliant answer, couldn't have said it better myself.

No difference. Maybe they just want to give Cena some technical wrestling stuff so that it would 'validate' his being a champ. Or maybe just to prolong the interest of his fans that I think is decreasing because he is so overrated...and annoying.

cena's is very sloppy. he is usually 2high un his opponent and if vince would ever let the muthafucka lose, he would be rolled over easily. regal does it the right way, hos hips r squarely 2 the mat and he hooks in the chinlock correctly.
