i have my favorite three best and greatest love stories of all time:

1. "An Affair to Remember." starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr.

it is about a man and a woman who were madly in love and promised to meet each other at a certain time and certain date at the top of the empire state building and run away to get married.

while he was there waiting for her, she was running late and she rushed to get there and got hit by a car just outside the empire state building.... so that she never was able to meet him there. all the time he believe she never intended to come and he became bitter and never gave her a chance to explain.

after the accident she became crippled and never wanted him to know what had happened to her as she did not want him to marry her out of pity....she wanted him to have a better life.

after a long time and at the end, he came to visit her to tell her he was leaving the country and to say goodbye forever and only then did he realize that she was crippled when he saw the wheel chair and found out the truth....the end was sooooo romantic and the best love story i ever saw..

if you saw the movie "sleepless in seatle" it is based on that movie....that is why meg ryan and tom hanks were to meet at the empire state building because she wanted it to be like her favorite movie "an affair to remember"....the background music and theme song of "sleepless in seatle" was from "an affair to ......"

2. "Love in the Afternoon" with Audrey Hepburn and Gary Cooper.

he is a rich american playboy who is always in the gossip column and she is a simple french student musician who loves to read the gossip magazines and who would read about him all the time.

one day, she meets him while he is in town and she pretends to be a rich parisian playgirl who has so many guys who like her. she never tells him her name and just meets him at the hotel every afternoon.

he starts getting jealous of all her lovers whom she pretends she has and starts falling in love with her. he then hires a local french detective to find out who this girl is.....the detective finds out that this girl is his young musician daugher and pleads to the playboy to please not ruin her life as she is a very innocent girl and was lying to him about all the guys as she never ever had a man in her life before.

so he decides to leave as he was falling so much for her and he did not want to.....when he was leaving on the train, she was running and telling him not to worry about her because there were so many guys who were crazy about her who would take care of her......at the end, he grabs her and pulls her onto the train with him and they go off together.

3. It is a toss up between "Titanic" and "Gone With the Wind" both are great love stories and both won, if i am not mistaken, 13 academy awards or more each. they are very different but unbelievably beautiful stories..... i am sure you have seen the "titanic", so "gone with the wind" is not one to miss.....

these are unforgetable movies which you can get on dvd and which once you have seen them, you will never forget just like i have never forgotten them thoughout the years..

Oooh yes Romeo and Juliet, most definitely. :)

Then also the story of Cupid and Psyche.

As for my favorite love movie, that would have to be The Notebook. :P Ahhh... to find a guy like him. ^_^

haha :)
