The set of accounting principles upon which an insurance company's annual statement is required to be based for presentations to state regulatory authorities. Unlike Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), SAP is based on a liquidation concept which assumes that the company could be forced to terminate its business operations immediately, at any given time, and therefore views the value of the company's assets in liquidation versus its debt.

u have read legal meaning of SAP! - ok

now what is does to the company in return !!!

1) it SAPs real hard earned money to buy one set of license; of a glorified RDBMS

2) then, it SAPs bags of money to train its usage ( & when it calls itself user friendly!)

3) they "SAP" that programmer ; after you have paid for his training. then he comes as SAP specialist to you!

4) he tells (Zaps) you, since you have not followed systems properly, so there would be gestation period (2-3 years) after which it can deliver something!

5) when it delivers, it's out put is per US or Euro rules; then you are Zapped!

6) finally, you have to key in figures from SAP to your illegal xl sheet to print report to be submitted to Govt of India, excise, sales tax, service tax etc.

7) then time for better SAP- by the time you realise you are about use it to some level, yu are given notice to update-to-next version of SAP!!!
obviously old one with you stops working, automatically; that's proof of excellent connectivity with SAP international.

8) by then, if you are not - SAPPED enough; a new Country manager ( in Armani suit! , hey it was your own programmer couple of years ago ) pays a courtesy call to You- with rebate offers on Latest Edition of SAP..........

do you re-call - "Bonded labour"; you try to assess whether they had better life...........
