How about what many people don't know or often say about him... As Emperor and a commander constantly at war with the other dominant powers including Austria, Prussia and Britain..He sought to spread the progressive ideals of the French revolution, its reforms and its aftermath across all of Europe at a time when the rest of the continent was still under more 'authoritarian' control. He was at heart a humanist, he truly believed his actions were noble even if a million men may have perished under his command. His greatest achievement? After defeating Austria and Prussia he set out to conquer Russia and along the way liberated Poland, which had been erased from the map in conspiracy by his three enemies. For this he was lionized by the Poles as a liberator even though may of them froze on the walk back from Moscow.

Napoleon Bonaparte was a Corsican who eventually became emperor of the French, starting in 1804. He came from a rather patriotic Corsican family, but about age 9, his father sent him to France where he would study in the government-financed military school called Brianne. He graduated at 16, and immediately went to business for his new country, France.

He distinguished himself early on in several battles.....

to find out more about him, do a google search. Many movies have been made on him, including Waterloo,.

Napoleon's mother was the first European to take a bath every other day. Most people in Europe and their European colonies in the Americas usually take a bath once a year. I'm not kidding. People back then in Europe thought taking a bath constantly was pagan or would make you sick. Rome's sewer system, aqueducts, and bath houses was way more advance than the sewer system in 19th century New York city (check out the movie Gangs of New York).
