usually animes by clamp are shoujo, moe and bishonen...deathnote is not a shonen but a mystery anime....
gundams are mecha anime...
today? I recommend Bleach and One Piece but if you also would prefer old shonens then try Samurai Deeper Kyo, Hunter X Hunter, Shadow Skill, Samurai Champloo, Samurai X, Fullmetal Alchemist, Baki the Grappler (or Grappler Baki), Trigun, Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop and Shaman King.

Ghost in the shell SAC mixes great action sequences with complex referrences to the Stand Alone Complex (SAC). They are a lot more serious than other anime, like no chibi or deformities and other usual anime techniques, but it is a great cyber punk anime.

paranoid agent,samurai shamploo isn't bad,flcl is trippy, all those are on adult swim on the cartoon network,if ya like the samurai shamploo show he does cowboy bebop and the animated story in kill bill.ghost in the shell is drawn pretty well for a series.if your 18 most Japanese feature animated films are pretty good,akira is easy to find -legend of the over fiend was different.
