i guess, many people don't bother to edit their work..... since this is an informal site, no one really needs to impress....all they want to go is answer questions and go from there....

but i bet that at work or in school they do much better.....at least i think i do....lol

just think, even writers and authors misspell and that is why their work is edited by their publishers. who cares as long as you have great ideas and thoughts....you can always hire someone or get a word check program for hardly nothing.

Why so many can't spell is beyond me. What's so scary is that they look at it and see nothing wrong.

One of the very first impressions you make on someone is through your looks, and your vocabulary.
Your vocabulary says who you are, and if you can't speak decent english, it marks you as ignorant and uneducated, no matter how cute you think you are. Remember, you have about 10 yrs to be cute, then you're just an ignorant older person. Intelligence lasts a lifetime.
If you're cummunicating via the written word, and can't spell or form correct sentences, it tells the other person a ton about you.

Along with that, calling yourself "Dog, Sexy Biach," and a ton of other degrading names, tells others that your intelligence is really limited (companies paying big salaries simply aren't looking for you), and that you'll never have a job making much more than minimum wage...much less be able to carry on a conversation beyond what you just read in the tabloids about Beyonce, or Paris Hilton.

As to whether or not this is all true about someone isn't the issue.
But, that's the message they're sending.

Some people are just too lazy to spell correctly, or even TRY to spell correctly. Most of the time, it's on the computer.

I broke the habit of spelling things on the computer like "r u 2 dum" (just and example), and I spell everything the correct way because I'm not that lazy.

Some people just don't want to listen or try in school, some might be mentally challenged, or maybe some other reasons.

Some of the answers you get here illustrate it remarkably well. They CAN spell, but think misspelling somehow shows off their intelligence -or lack of it. They see it as a cleverness game. There's probably more people who DON'T spell correctly than there are who CAN'T spell.

Be cool on this one... I've been flagged several times asking the same question. PS: Why can't these morons just hit "spell check" instead of looking like a bunch of illiterate retards??? Oh wait... THEY ARE!!!

Most people that can spell, can't form sentences correctly. Most people who can write sentences correctly can't write paragraphs right, and are simply terrible writers in general. Those who are great writers, some of them don't even use their words correctly because they don't truly understand the definitions.

Also, most people who belittle those that they say can't spell, usually can't spell themselves, and only know how to mindlessly click the spell check button instead of actually learning words and their true meanings.

Basically, why talk sh*t about other people you don't know when everyone has their weaknesses? Just perfect your writing abilites, and pass it down to your children.

Not every one can spell everything. Small physical deformations are a part of every man's perfection some of them are more visible than the others.Hence the effect.
