First of all is there too much of a difference between 7900GT and 7900GS? And I know that 7950GT is better then 7900GT/GS, but is it worth paying more to get 7950GT or am i gonna regret paying more to get it because 7900GT/GS would have been enough for me? I play recent and new games like Battlefield2142, Far Cry, Counter Strike, Obvillion, World of Warcraft and etc. Tnx in advance.

I have the 7950 GT and it's a great card. 2142 Battlefield looks amazing on my computer, and counter strike's graphics are greatly improved from my old computer's vid card (128 MB ATI Rage). You could wait for the 8800's to get cheaper because they support directx 10.0 but it will be awhile before games will be exclusively run on directx 10.0... until then it will probably be 9.0c, which the graphics cards you're choosing from support.

You may as well go with the 7900, as long as you have sufficient system RAM (at least 1 gb). Heck, I'm running a 6800/128mb and 1.5 gb RAM and I can run Quake 4, Far cry, Battlefield 2142 and Prey with no problems. Just as a pointer-make sure that whichever you buy is compatible with your mobo; depending on whether you have AGP, PCI Express or (horror) straight PCI. I might suggest waiting until the prices on the 8000 series come down; they are purported to support DirectX 10, and that will be the next great leap in gaming.

If you plan on playing Oblivion, I would get the best card you can afford, that game eats power. Try to get one of the overclocked 7950GTs, they are around $260 on newegg, and well worth the money.
