I'm assuming you a black man like myself, cause usually white men don't get razor bumps because their facial hair grows straight out of their face...ours grows and curls back under the skin. Anyway. Don't be fooled by the media! black me should not used razors to shave. You should shave with "T-Liner" barbers clippers. After removing ingrown hairs with tweezers, shave with the clippers then use "Bump Patrol" bump stopper. I've been using it for years it works like a charm. Try it!

Use very stable shaving cream, a razor with 5 sharp blades, and don't push down too annoying. attempt putting lotion on the worst spots. this is definitely better in case you wait some days formerly attempting to shave back :x

It depends on your skin. (IF you are dark skinned, a single blade razer is best.) But for any skin type always pretreat the area first. Hot clothes, washing with face cloth, to take off dry skin, then use a good moisturizing shaving cream, gel, lotion, what ever works well for you. Then rinse with cold water, and apply a lotion that has vitamin, C, and E in it. The C, ascorbic acid will continue to act as an exfolient, to prevent ingrown hairs, and the E helps heal quickly. I use the jamison vitamin brand, they have a great lotion, and then I add my own vitamin E oil to it, that I get from Avon. But this combination is available frequently in most product lines you will find in drug stores.
(this goes for all sensitive parts to shave )

I have heard that if you shave the "other" way it will prevent razor burns. I am not sure if it works, but worth a try!:) Also, there is some type of lotion (can't think of name) that you can put on before shaving. Make sure your face is very moist before you start to shave!

Warm water and shaving foam. Always shave with the direction of hair growth, never against it. Razor bumps are caused by shaving the wrong direction against the direction of hair growth. It causes ingrown hairs and bumps.

I use Lubriderm lotion first, then shave cream, then a sharp razor that is hot from the water in the sink. Rinse razor after every stroke.
