Really steady hands.. I've done it. The equinox actually doesn't have anything to do with it.





(Supposedly there was a classroom somewhere that once did a whole floor with dozens of eggs, they even had an egg standing on it's small end.)

I once saw Hume Cronyn do this in the movie, "Foxfire", which also starred Jessica Tandy and John Denver. It was very simple, really, in that all Hume did was hold the egg by it's side and then gently tap the end of the egg on the table. The resulting blow rendered the egg flat on one end and thereby made it very easy to "stand" the egg on it's end.
