On a smaller scale, on a personal level I recently experienced two very similar events spaced approximately two years apart - the second event being similar but greater in magnitude. I'd like to think it was a coincedence but I fear that it's been repeated because I missed something the first time around. I'd like to think that a personal God was trying to show me something, teach me something - to help explain away and provide comfort for my unending questions. I recently had the opportunity to see a movie called "The Secret" which claims that we as individuals and perhaps collectively make real our thoughts and fears. The claim is that we make our own reality. So on this string of thought, it appears that as long as the human mind remains the same then perhaps we are doomed to repeat the same mistakes. I think the physiologically we are sort of restrained by our senses - to perceive what is there and react to it. It's either fight or flight. I saw a documentary on the evolution of dogs and how over time, breeding wild "dogs" resulted in significant variations in coat and hormone levels by the 10th generation resulting in what we would consider a domestic version of a dog - less adrenlin produces less aggression. It may be a result of our physiology perhaps if you subtract the spiritual dimension.

Everything happens for a reason. Helps you get through the tough times too if you believe this, but even so, you can look back at what's happened in your life and see how you benefitted or how you learnt something you needed to use later on, those things you can't see a reason for are because you've not needed to draw on the experience yet, but I do believe you will see a reason why everything happened eventually.

sounds like you're talking about creation. coincidence. while we're here we might as well make the best of what we have. here's my take about the creator ....
I can accept that there's a possibility that God or the creator might exist...
I believe that we must take ownership of this life, society, and the world around us. if God does indeed exist, then he/she (or this being) would want us to maintain (or dare I mention IMPROVE) what he/she had created for us.
take ownership meaning love. this would be the most important lesson he/she want us to learn and achieve
Recognizing the love is recognizing divinity, which can be recognizing that God had created us and everything around us.
same as we are created from mother and farther.
if we keep our house clean, tidy, and beautiful. then we've just turned this house into HOME. if we help out each other, then we're helping our siblings and ourselves.

Living human kind were all at loss and blurr on the purpose of life in planet of apes.
So everyone is living in misery in making a monkey out of ourselves with lost sense of direction and purpose of life in planet of apes.
So the blunders and slip-ups with human errors keep on repeating itself until we self annihilate ourselves to extinction in planet of apes.
Their is no return ticket available out there in planet of apes.
The blunders and slip-ups with human errors had been going on for centuries when the original keeper lost the instruction manual the missing x-files that is vital for the survival and advancement of living human kind in planet of apes.
All this while we were making advancement of science and mathematics and not the advancement of living human kind in planet of apes.
Woner who is at self loss out there living in misery in making a monkey out of themselves in planet of apes?
