I had studied the 50 US States. The best depends on your style of living.

California's weather is fine, it doesn't snow over there. I had stayed here x 6 months and you will love each city. San Francisco is lovely, LA is congested, San Diego has nice weather. Anaheim is fantasyland because of Disneyland. El Centro is hot even if it isnt summer. It is there that I had seen the 24 hour Walmart. Different cities in California have different features.

If you love islands, definitely you will love Hawaii.
If you love skiing, you will love Coronado & Utah.

If you are a bachelor & love thrills of life, then Nevada would be best for you. Gambling and prostitution are legalized.

If you like history, then you will probably like Washington DC, Maryland, Pennsylvania ( The Keystone State).

If you like the Sunshine, you will love Florida. You will love the beaches and the theme parks here. Explore Disneyworld!

If you are a European , you will definitely love staying in the 6 New England Territories like Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire & Rhode Island.

If you love snow then East Coast will be the best for you. These includes New York, New Jersey, Maryland and the nearby areas.

There is South & North Carolina and South & North Dakota. If you want to go to Mount Rushmore then go to South Dakota.

If you want to see the Coca-Cola Museum, go to Georgia. You will love Savannah, which is one of the most beautiful places in the USA.

If you are an Indian, you will probably want to stay in Indiana, Kentucky, Tennesee.

If you want to a windy city you will love Chicago. If you love a quiet place you will love Seattle.

Do you love jazz? Then you will love Louisiana. If you want to go to the biggest mall in the USA then go to Minnesotta.

The highest crime rate is in Missouri, therefore, you will avoid it.

Personally, I'm a big fan of my home state of Michigan with its sandy beaches, rolling hills, towering pines, big snow and four disctinct seasons.

Of course, I'm rather biased so throwing Michigan out I'd have to say. Hmmm, this is difficult. Of the states I've been to (I've been to most), I'd have to say South Dakota with its Black Hills area. Alaska and Hawaii are pretty phenomenal too, but I didn't pick them because I don't think I'd want to actually live there for an extended period of time.
