Rice's numbers are close, but I don't think he's being blackballed. Is Gossage, or Garvey, or Blyleven being blackmailed also?

I would take Andre Dawson before Rice. Rice had more pure power in his heyday, but "The Hawk" was about as good a hitter, and was a brilliant outfielder and baserunner.

With that logic, Dale Murphy would be in there before Rice. 2 MVPs and doesn't make it. And McGwire, 580+ hrs, a gold glove. Rice's numbers are good, great even, but I think they are just short of Hall of Fame Status. He fell off so sharply later in his career, and stayed on too long.
