(elected or not, the Republican party made Bush their candidate)
Both have dressed up in military garb to make themselves look more manly/leaderly
(the mission accomplished flight suit vs. the beret and fatigues)
Both have essentially used weapons of mass destruction
(Gas on the Kurds vs. the MOAB)
Both have made it really easy to target them for political satyre
("thats my bush" vs. "bigger longer uncut")
Both are closely connected with oil in some way.
Both are very strongly connected to their faith.
