I have just purchased a new PC in China and asked the retailer to install the English version of windows. It arrived this morning, however when I connect the ADSL line I get a message saying that there is little or no connectivity, I can still access the internet although it is rather slow. I have tried running the diagnostic tool supplied with Windows to try and resolve the problem but it says that it cannot resolve my IP address. My internet connection does seem to be rather slow, is this what is causing the slow connection and how can I resolve the matter? Or is it possible that all of this is due to the earthquake off Taiwan two weeks ago?

You can click Start-Run, type "cmd" (without the quotes), hit the Enter key. Then type "tracert google.com" (without the quotes) and hit the Enter key. This will tell you where your connection is acting slowly.
