moksha, you obviously have no idea what Newton's Laws of Motion mean.
Yes, the flag can and did move in space. Wind was not a factor, however. The flag was supported by a telescoping rod across the top of the fabric. Obviously, this was so that it would "appear" to fly... The reason it moved in the video is obvious. The astronaut planting the flag was twisting the flag post into the Lunar surface... this caused the flag to sway and appear to be "waving in the wind". Any simpleton could figure that out... unless of course they were just looking for a reason to believe the video was faked. The flag also had no air to resist its motion so it continued to move until the friction between the flag pole and the lunar surface finally stopped its motion. THESE are the effects of Newton's laws, and very basic physics.
Because the flag waving thing is one of the things hoax believers tend to bring up the most, I went into pretty decent detail with that. Go to http://www.badastronomy.com for even more hoax theories debunked.
It is very simple and straightforward to prove that we landed on the Moon, and anyone with a smidgeon of scientific knowledge can easily prove to themselves that the astronauts were on the Moon.
Some easy proofs:
The video of the astronaut dropping the hammer and feather to test Galileo and Newton's theory that 2 objects no matter what their mass or shape is will hit the ground at the same time if dropped from the same height. It was easily seen in the video that these objects did, in fact hit at the same time. EVEN if they had "weighted" the feather in some way, the difference in shape would have affected its path if air was present. The feather and hammer dropped to the ground in the exact same way they were released. Also, if you time their drop, and do a few simple calculations you can easily deduce that they had to be dropped in a lower gravity environment.
Also, if you look at the dust being flung up by the Lunar rovers while they drove around. The Lunar regolith (dust) goes up and comes back down in perfect parabolic arcs. If air were present, the dust would have dissipated and spread. This did not occur. The dust that was disrupted by the wheels went up and came straight back down. It did not dissipate or form any sort of a plume like you would see behind an ATV or 4X4 on Earth.

There are whole websites dedicated to debunking this pitiful conspiracy theory. If you want a quick answer try this - the whole point of the conspiracy was to convince the Russians that the US had landed men on the moon. According to the "evidence" they did a poor job (no stars in the pictures, no blast craters, waving flags, converging shadows etc) and yet, amazingly, the Russians never noticed! Even more amazingly, they still haven't!

Best reason to believe is that he and fellow astronauts left retroreflector mirror arrays on the moon, so that astronomers today with telescopes can bounce laser beams off them, returning to earth exactly along the same path going out. All of the retroreflector arrays "visible" by the astronomers happen to be located in all the known moon landing sites. How did they get there? They have to be set up, they cannot just be dropped in place.

hmmm i don't think so. coz you must have seen the video(can get on youtube) that the flag, the american flag is moving. but if ders absence of air in space how could it move . considering newton law of motion nothing can move unless there is a resultant force. so how could the flag move??!? so i believe that they shooted that scene in some studio and made the background themselves. there's a movie i've seen that they reproduced the scene on moon. and gosh it seems real. so i dn't that it was that difficult to reproduce such backgroun in 1969. ave moksha
