Am I a prude?

Question

I'm very private (with most people) about my personal life and i call most of my friends whores because they "like to have a good time." And I keep getting called a prude. It's just that most of my friends started having sex at 14 and they haven't stopped since. One of my friends first had sex in september (this was years go though) and by early december she'd had 4 guys (which may not seem like a lot) and stabbed our best friend in the back over a guy that she was sleeping with because she wanted to *try* him too! And all of the guys she's been with since she hardly knows.

As far as my friends know I've had sex before (which isn't true.) I only told them I wasn't a virgin so when I tried to tell them not to sleep with a guy they'd listen instead of saying "But you don't know!" Which helped a bit cause I've talked them out of doing at least a handful!

I'm bi...and for some odd reason...it's a lot easier to talk to lesbians...or even about lesbian sex (:

It is not weird to act with your brain and not your hormones. We are humans not dogs, it is just that some people are civilized mentally more then others. Even some dogs are more civilized then other dogs. The civilized dogs takes food gently the uncivilized dog will take your hand off. Stick with your brain, you are doing well. Whats the saying?," fools rush in". I am glad to hear you are no fool. Get your education and some day you will look back and say, I wasn't weird after all, just civilized. By the way most 14 year olds feel weird to some degree and it will take a few more years to out grow it.

well i won't deny that your weird (joking). Anyway, no your not prude. Prude is a word whores and players came up with so that they had a comeback for people like us. I am nineteen years old. Started having sex at 15 almost 16. I was dating the person at the time and have not had sex with anyone else. People don't know completely know your situations, so they have no place to call you that. Plus if your a virgin be proud of it. My brother is eighteen almost nineteen, still a virgin, and damned proud of it. If they ask you why you haven't yet, simply tell them that "Sex once leads to Sex twice which leads to more sex. More sex can cause kids and I don't want any right now" And if the say something about birth control or condoms, tell them that people have conceived while on the pill or wearing condoms. A friend of mine was a condom baby. A "Blue Light Special at K-Mart" as his mother puts it. Be proud of who you are, no matter what. Don't lie just to fit in because I guarantee you if your still in grade school, one of your friends will probably get pregnant. Think of it as protecting yourself from avoidable situations. Your not prude, they're just jealous in my opinion.

You are not a Prude, you just have higher morals than your friends, and far more self respect. Calling them whores is a bit rough though (although they are), I would rather say they are highly promiscuous! They will probably calm down with age, and you will no doubt become comfortable with you femininity and sexually to start experimenting soon. Enjoy your life Hon. There is NOTHING wrong with taking your time before jumping into bed with someone (of either sex). You are obviously mature enough to realise that you need to sort out your head first, before taking the plunge. Well done and possibly think about some new friends?

No I don't think you're a prude. You just havn't found the right person (i guess lol). You might want to consider some new friends too. ;) Unless you really care about them, then you probably need to talk to them about it more. Express your feelings about this. And if they don't listen, then yeah, you should find some new friends. I'm not saying to give up on them, try to stay connected, but from what I heard from you, they don't sound like good friends. so, you're saying they call you a prude because you don't go off and romp in the sack on a whim? you're not a prude, dear. you are just more mature than they are. i didn't start having sex till i was 21, but that didn't mean that i wasn't sexually active when i was 16. thing is, you aren't a prude for not wanting to have sex as much as they do. you will find the right person.

I'm bi as well and as far as I'm concerned, your friends are whores and you really need to ditch them because you don't need that kind of influence around you. Have they never heard of A.I.D.S.! You are not weird. You just chose to be more careful and smarter than your friends and there's nothing wrong with that. I have a best friend of 11 years who used to be like your friends but after constantly counseling her and supporting a child on her own, she finally woke up.
