Ah - everyone remembers the 9 goals Liverpool scored. But being a Palace fan I cannot forget that Geoff Thomas missed a penalty at the Kop end to heap shame upon misery. One thing not mentioned thus far, is that the 8 different scorers for Liverpool that night set a record for a single "top flight" football match. I think the record still stands

Perry Suckling was the goalkeeper who let in 9 goals against Liverpool. This was probably caused Crystal Palace to make Nigel Martyn the first £1m goalkeeper when they signed him later that season.
