they already took their own vote and for some reason they are under the impression that we are all stupid and take orders from a monkey like retard.

Let us presume that they are 100 light years away. This is not a long way but still covers quite a few stars. If we want to communicate with someone who we know exists, who probably do not know we exist we must first attract their attention. For example, someone could be trying to contact us but so far we could have missed the signal by unfortunately not facing a receiver in the correct direction!
If we sent a message, it would take 100 years to get there. They would have to detect it and then send one back, which would take at least another 100 years. This means that a reply would take 200 years! And add all the time spent debating before a reply is sent, it would be more. We would have to keep scanning from about 190 yrs after our first message up to 250 years after our transmission to see if they have replied to our one message. We would also have to keep re-sending the signal for the 100 years in case they have not detected it yet! Only when they receive could we stop resending the original signal.
Obviously even if we did discover intelligent alien life in our lifetimes we certainly would not be alive to learn the outcome. If Human life was extended to beyond 200 years on average then perhaps it would seem more exciting - the prospect of still being alive when we are expecting an answer!
How long would it take us to establish a dictionary of mathematical terms with which to communicate? Depending on the length of the transmissions, (they would have to be highly repetitive in order to be easily recognizable and to prevent data corruption), it could take well over a thousand years to learn anything about them, or them about us.

It sounds that you're from NASA or some other space agency. Are you from a space agency? By the way, send them a looooooong message so then it will be better for us. We must not worry. We're human beings, and we're the most intelligent. We're the best creatures. We should contact them. Afcourse they are much advanced from us. But we know much things that they do not know. I prefer to contact them and wait for their reply. If our message will take 5 years to reach there, then if they are advanced then their message may take only 5 days to reach here. So contact them and lets see that who are they. And then may be if they are nice creatures then we people may become good friends and through corporation we can do many things to make our species alive for a long time. I hate the above stupid answers. Because this question is really technological and scientific so we must take it serious.
Contact them bro and have fun.

If we found proof, then that might be considered their attempt at communicating with us first. The question may as well be, How do we respond to them? Friend or foe, I would be "over the top" type curious about it.

My vote is leave them alone and hope they're not hungry!
No, I'm just kidding!
Maybe we should contact them and invite them a cup of tea.
On second thought, we should serve a whole dinner, so they dont try to eat us all!

Of course aliens exist --- look at me! And no, why would I want to wait 10 years on a conversation?

I for contact. Better to approach them diplomatically than surprise the BeJesus out of them. How do we not know they aren't just another old human race?
