Wow, kind of a hard one.
I think the answer is B. The reasons for WWI were complex and varied, and it's hard to find one root cause. However, I stick by B because one thing I know for sure is that France, Germany and Russia all had strong military plans BEFORE the war started that dictated how they would fight the war, and what their primary objectives would be. They all had their eyes on different pieces of someone else's territory, and they all had generals who had planned out just what they would do if there was a war. I think that on the brink of WWI, Europe was ready for war, and had been for a long time. They were just waiting for the right moment to put their land-grabbing, boundary-changing plans into action. The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand is usually stated to be the cause of the war, but I think it was the militaristic plans of the nations in Europe, and their capitalization on his assassination, that actually led to the war.
That's my story, anyway, and I am sticking to it.
Later:
Umm, did I miss something? Everyone seems to be talking about WWII, but that wasn't the Great War. WWI was the Great War....

The Great War, 1914-19.
a. is debatable. In Britain, there had been early stirrings of left-wing and working-class struggle for better conditions, and the suffragette movement seeking votes for women. From modern disillusionment and mistrust of governments, it's easy to say "Well, the leaders would know that a war would give those people something else to think about", but Interpreting the past in terms of the present like that is the commonest mistake of amateur historians. It's illogical without some backup from the period, and I don't think there is any.
b. has an element of truth. This war was the first one to see the use of trench warfare, heavy artillery, poison gas, aeroplane spotting, and big battleships. These techniques were in development long beforehand, and the military were keen to try them out on the slightest excuse.
c. is rubbish. The years up to 1914 were in many respects the most prosperous the world had ever seen. The number of upper class people, and the luxury they lived in, looks quite incredible by today's standards. This applied all across Europe.
d. is rubbish too. Such dismantling only began after the Great War, and it continued after WWII.

B, due to all the politics between the countries. Countries such as Russia and Britain were brought into the war due to their allies being brought into war.

I do believe C was one of the main factors - and is a factor in many wars. If the people are happy economically, they are less likely to see war as a viable solution to problems.
