I mean pyjamas or a nightdress, with or without a housecoat or dressing-gown, at home.

Do they also wear this when there are other people such as spouse, family or friends around?

I like to wear my pyjamas in the day. I suppose it must come from when I was a child, when as soon as i arrived home from school my mother would put me in the bath and then dress me in my pyjamas. I remember how cosy and warm they felt and would most days be in them by 5pm. ready to be put down in bed 7pm. at Now when i arrive home from work and after I have had my evening meal i am straight into the bath and then get into my pyjamas for the evening. If I am not working or going out I will sometimes spend the whole day in pyjamas and not get dressed at all. I find working on my computer or doing any work at home much more comfy dressed in pyjamas.

Do you watch the picture "The Odd Couple"?I am very much like the ' Odd' one in the picture.
I wear pyjama day and night when I am in my own comfortable home and do not expect visitors. If the visitors come unexpectedly, too bad that they did not give advanced warning.
If the visitors are close relatives and friends and neighbours, and if you are reasonbly neat and presentable and you are a nobody,I think it is acceptable to be in pyjama at in the day time.

Yes. I knew a lot of people wearing night dress in the daytime also. If they are at home without any work, what is the necessity of wearing a formal dress? They can also wear infront of their spouse, family or friends.

I guess I can come under that category. Normally when you sleep late in the mornings, and you have nothing planned for the day, you would like to be a little lazy around the house, even if your spouse is around.
