The only thing i can think of is ask her exactly why she doesnt want to let you! if you sit down and talk about it like an adult (dont start an argument and talk calmly) all depending on what her answer is then you could put it to her that maybe you could use a semi permanent hair dye (one that lasts 6-8 weeks and doesnt leave you with horrible roots!) And also you didnt say what colour you wanted to go? as parents always say no to bleaching hair!

I feel your pain, even when I was 17 my mom still wouldn't let me walk around the block by myself. I wasn't allowed to dye my hair untill I was 16 or 17 and that was only on my birthday. I've heard of perming making your hair fall out. In reality you belong to your mom till your 18. I would just suck it up and walk till your 16. I had a weird experience at the beauty salon. I had what they call "virgin hair" which means it hasn't ever been dyed or permed and the ladies at the salon were all feeling my hair, it was weird but they did a good job.

My mum wouldn't let me dye mine until I was 16 or 17, but the girls in my grade weren't dying there hair as yonug as you are. So I never really asked until I was older. So, I guess it's all about peer pressure. You should wait though, that is really young. Wants you start dying it you have to all ways keep doing otherwise you'll get ugly roots. Mine falls out more when I dye it too. I think you should listen to your mum and wait.

Yes it is true. And yes I think she's right. By the way all those kids who have dyed their hair since they were ten will lose it all by the time they're 20 because of all the chemicals that are in highlights and dye will mess with the hair causing them to go bald and never get their hair back.

Sorry to tell you this but your mum is talking rubbish. My daughter started dying her hair when she was about 9 and has been doing it for the last 10 years and hers is fine. It's pink at the moment I believe. However if you mum objects then unfortunately there is not much you can do about it. Soon you will be old enough to make up your own mind.

I had the same problem. When I was ten all my friends were geting their hair streaked or dyed. I kept begging my mom and she would tell me no, because dying your hair dries it out or something. Well, I'm sixteen now and still can't dye my hair. But I've grown to appreciate my hair, and not want to screw it up by dying it.

hey my names Lucy i live in perth too i have dyed my hair 2 different colours already and goin on to my third which will be purple and im only 14 it doesnt make your hair fall out but bleaching it too much will. i have a friend who bleached her hair to much and a chunk broke off. so if your genna bleach your hair only do it once and wait a long time before doing it again but if your not it won't do any damage but just dont expect your dye to work properly everytime.

well unfortunately because your 13 and shes the mum she wins. I know it may seem like something you really want right now, but take it from someone who has dyed their hair from about you age one, I am 35 now and I have crappy hair. if has never been the same after the first time i dyed and lightened it. Doing it yourself or professionally it is damaging to your hair, it may seem cool at the time but trust me when you grow older and you have crummy hair youll wish you hadnt gotten started

iv never heard of anyone loosing their hair from dye. it WILL however make your hair brittle and will give it a sizzled, burnt look. if you really want to dye it, maybe your mom will let you buy some of that color-enhancing formula shampoo (treseme, lorel, pantine...)
you can buy it at wal Mart
it will keep your hair healthy but still give it a glow of a new color. (they make red, black, blonde, brown and some other natural colors.)
i also think that a couple brands make mild dye that wont dry out your hair so bad. they make that in all different colors.
Good Luck! <3
