Minhang District - it looks expensive (villas and all!).

1. Here's a general overview...
"Minhang District has recently become a new housing alternative to the Hongqiao District. It has a number of large villa compounds that are well finished and reasonably priced , and there are plenty of others in the pipeline. With the completion of the subway and easy access via the expressway, this district has grown significantly in the past few years. You will find a blend of old and new China with easy access to downtown Shanghai. The area still has a semi-rural feel, with lots of open space and green surroundings.

"There are a number of villa compounds and townhouses in the district, which are within a few minutes drive of the Shanghai American School and the Shanghai International School. Because it is further away, the prices are cheaper than villas closer to downtown."

2. Read this webpage too, and you'll see how Minhang has become a place where foreign investors are being encouraged. http://www.shxip.com/english/invest/profilemh.htm

3. MinHang Garden Villas
Now have a look at those villas ....
