Nowadays the exchange rate is roughly 11 pesos to the dollar.
About your question, you wouldn't get the .01 (or 1 centavo) as we don't use 1 centavo coins.. haven't used them for over 40 years.
You might get 220.20
The peso is the only currency, although some places do take dollars, but at a different exchange rate. I would suggest going to the exchange bureaus in the airport to get the best rate.
Good luck!

The peso value varies daily with the dollar. Today it's around 10.87 MX pesos to the US dollar. So if you exchange $100 US you should receive around 108+ MX pesos.
The coins in Mx are 5, 10, 20, 50 centavos. Also 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 & 100 peso coins. Paper money is in 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 & 1000 peso denominations

You can't, the smallest coin value is 10 cents. (they are supposed to be 5 cent coins, but haven't seen any lately) So you only can receive 220.20 pesos.
Yes, the peso is the official currency here, you could pay in dollars (mainly in La Paz or Cancun) but the rate will be agains you.

No, there are centavos (hundreths) also.
But in a situation where you're exchanging money, they'll round to the nearest unit.

If there are any young children standing nearby, you just give the odd coins to them.
