Hot water shrinks things, and then put it in the dryer on hot. Depends on the fabric, but my boyfriend has managed to shrink quite a few of my things with this combination. Men huh!?

Take it to a bargain dry cleaner establishment and make it a point to tell them NOT to shrink it since it's your favorite shirt. Guaranteed ...!!

if it is a proper cotton shirt, don't shrink it...take it to a tailor and see what they can do with it...anything bigger than 3 sizes wouldn't work...a tailor may be able to make the shirt less "cowish" for you,
