First of all you have not stated under which form your friend got married, secondly on what grounds he has filled Divorce petition. If say he is a Hindu & married according to Hindu marriage ceremonies under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 he can obtain divorce only after 3 years of such a marriage which he has done according to the facts you have stated. Now for purpose of divorce according to sec 13 of the above stated Act the grounds available with him are any of these : his wife’s adultery, her conversion to another religion, her incurable unsound mind, her incurable form of leprosy, her suffering from communicable venereal disease, her renouncing the worldly entering any religious order, her being not heard as being alive for period of 7yrs, that after obtaining a decree of judicial separation by him or decree of restitution of conjugal rights by him there was no resumption of marriage for a period of 2yrs or upwards. There is no other ground available to him to obtain divorce as far as this Act is concerned. Now till I know under which Act he has filled his Divorce petition & under what grounds I cannot guide you farther. It maybe possible that he had actually filled petition for Judicial Separation that you are confusing with Divorce Petition so better it is to clarify this also. You can always contact me personally on net. I’m lawyer with 24yrs experience.

Ash firstly I have a few questions for you; -
1.If he is your boyfriend, then why is he married to that woman?
2.How would you behave with your husband if you knew he had a girlfriend?
3.If she was harassing him before, why did he marry her?
4.Why did you not marry him instead?
5.Why can’t your friend stay separately with his wife?
I think you are only hearing his whining without looking at the other side of the coin. Answer the above questions and things will be clearer to you. Have you ever considered the fact that he cannot get a divorce for over two years means he cannot prove all the $h!t he has made you believe?

Are you sure that all the points mentioned in your question are correct and this is a true & dispassionate portrayal?
Divorce is a legal process and it will take its own course, I'm afraid. I am tempted to ask something:
1. Was he your boyfriend before the marriage or it happenned after the marriage?
2. Are you sure that he is not at fault at all? Have you at least had the version of the lady in question?
3. It is for him to solve the problems or even ask the questions from the relevant & important. Did he ask you to do so?
4. Are you looking for the push button solutions to the problem?
5. Are you convinced that he is not making a fool of you?
6. Are you sure that he did not make a fool of the wife?
It needs a lot of thought & introspection...

My boyfriend told me he was going to a strip club with some of his single friends once, and his line of the day was : "Baby what are you worried about? You look 10 times better than the strippers anyways." B*u*l*l*s*h*i*t!! I was pissed. I don't think it's okay at all, and a good bf or husband would totally understand that. I mean yes, all it is is random women taking off their clothes. But you have a right not to like it. Just tell him very maturely that you don't want to be the kind of gf who tells her guy what to do, but this is really bothering you. If he cares he'll be understanding

These are all your point of view, and cannot be taken as absolute truth. You are also sypathetic with your friend and support him. But he is more to blame for the state of affairs. He is not able to control his wife, then why should he marry ? Now why does he need to file a divorce ? Does your friend plan to marry again ? but he does not have experience to handle a wife ?

set up a good lawyer and force the girl's side for a compromise and pay them some money and get it over with. this i am telling from practical experience, so just try it and hope u get good results. u just need one year of being married to apply for divorce. and without the girl's side coming to a compromise u cant do anything and cant live in peace at all.

Tell your boy friend to slap his wife and then definitely she will come in his way. If not he must talk to her parents seriously about her and discuss with friends for hours. Definitely he will find some solution. I didn't understood that why r u thinking of him?????????

This guy who could'n't help himself over the two years is of no use to another person. Forget him! He can't stand on his own. He cannot be a male. You are unncessasariyly disturbing yourself. The guy who could not manage, his own affairs, can not be of any use to you.
