i'm sorry but what does hesitate mean

When it comes to things like a flat tire on the side of a highway or having an empty tank in the middle nowhere, you can be damn sure I won't hesitate to ask for help.
In all other cases, I hesitate. I don't want to owe anything to anyone... My experience with the kindness of others is the expectation of a favor later on. I don't like that.

I am a very independent person ( i thin k all of us tend to depend on number one) so i usually just suffer on even if i really need help... the only time i run asking for help is when i can go to someone who has all the answers then it is allot easier to ask

Nope I ask for help all the time, I used to be afraid to ask questions, but after nodding along and being found out that I have no clue what they were talking about I'm never afraid to ask questions.

Yes. I am overly independent. I think of it as a blow to my pride if I need help. I get a little edgy if people ask me for help. I think I don't ask you so why ask me. I know it's not fair or right.

Yes I do. I pride myself on being independent so it is humbling to admit you need help. But then I bust my butt when someone ask for my help!
