The average temp tends to be in the high 30's so you want a selection of summer clothes and sun screen protection.

Tends to be humid too.

Also include a few long trousers in case you are saying indoors in air condition places.

It depends on what you're planning on doing but I'd suggest -
*some cool clothing for during the day (hot and humid weather)
*light but covering clothing at night (keep the mozzies away)
*thongs for walking around town
*hiking shoes for walking anywhere else
*hat/ sunglasses/ sunscreen/ mozzie repelent etc
*bathers and a towel for the odd water hole you might get around Kakadu or Litchfield Nat. Park
*undies/ toiletries/ etc
*a torch in case of a blackout in your hotel cos of the lightning storms
*a camera (duh!)
*money, etc (again duh!)
* and finally - a water bottle (or camel back), you wont realise how much water you can drink 'til you've been up north in the Wet!
And if you get too hot, go to the vodka bar at Duck's Nuts in Mitchell St - it's super airconditioned in there (i froze when I was there in June!)
