I bought a laptop from a local computer store last year and purchased an additional service plan that allows me to get a new laptop if mine is ever power surged. So I figured its time to put the warranty into action.

Does anybody know an easy way how I can power surge my laptop? Is there any way of them knowing it was intentionally done?

I would be careful. The warrantly likely has alot of underwriting about techincalities. For example your adapter might be rated as a surge protector itself shorting out and saving the system making your policy essentialy a ripoff. The only way you can get a surge big enough to jump accross any line is lightning. It claims everything.

You could use a gasoline generator and then up the voltage. Better still just have your system run in a room with a hot shower and humidifier. Let the pc dry a few days. It will leave no evidence unless you have hard water.

take your laptop golfing, attach yourself to the laptop by binding to your chest with metal wire, then wait for a thunderstorm to come, then have fun golfing!
