I am reading the book Wicked right now. I know there is (or was) a broadway show of it. Since I wont get the chance to see that, is there a company that produces them on DVD? I would love to see it!

wicked isn't on dvd unfortunately, but you could try searching for a bootlegged copy on google. by going to video and search "wicked on broadway"...here's one...not too sure how great the quality is though....

Actually, every show on Broadway is flimed for preservation, but very few actually make it onto DVD. Stephen Sondheim has been very good about it, and many of his shows are available (Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods, Passion). Other musicals that have been recorded and released include Pippen, Purlie, Cats, Barnum, the Nunsense musicals, and most recently, The Light in the Piazza.
Because Wicked has been so popular, and will likely run for many more years (either on Broadway or on tour) it is doubtful they will every release a DVD version of it. Your best chance is to see a touring company of the show (check the Wicked website for dates and cities).

I don't believe there is a DVD of Wicked.I know the stage versions of Barnum, and Cats are on DVD.Because I have both.I went to half.com and there are quite a few Broadway stage musicals on it.If your buying make sure it's the stage version and not the big screen version.

I'm not aware of any Broadway shows ever to make it to dvd unless they make it to the silver screen first.
