The Origin for the name is Hawaii, it means gift. I'm doing IVF with donor eggs. I'd say that's a pretty awsome gift! thanks for all your opinions.

It's a great name! You should know that it's unisex though. Makana is my son's middle name. I have heard it used for both boys and girls here in Hawaii.

It's a very pretty name. My son goes to school with a girl by that name and her name is spelled Makena. : )

Well, I've seen the more Irish version of that name--McKenna! I think McKenna would be a cute name!
