u did the right thing when u change into the new supply unit. but the right thing is not always the right thing. u know the problem is not coming from the supply unit, the u change the cable right, then it still not working. then the problem most probably, first check either you paid electricity bills or not, if yes then the problem will be your motherboard. check the cable socket in both supply unit and motherboard. because here the electricity are not flowing into the motherboard.

Sometimes, the plug u used is the main problem. So do not forget to check any single part from the external part before you focusing on internal part....ok...

What type of motherboard is it? Some have a fuse built into them. What happened when the computer stopped working? Did he buy a non-working computer? Or you saying he brought it to you? Unplug the power supply, pull out all cards and drive cables. Reinstall the video card. Plug the system back up and see if it boots, if it does, plug things back in one at a time with power off and reboot and see which one might be causing the problem.

If the PC is not starting at all, it undoubtedly the problem with Power. Please checkout the following
1) Powercord connection to UPS and to the electricity connection.
2) SMPS - the unit which coverts Ac current to lead it into the computer. If this is faulty, the there would be no power signal at all.

Make sure that the above given functions are clarified.
Good luck.

first of all if it's a new computer and he bought it used then the seller could've scammed him. second, the batteries might both be dead or maybe you are not plugging in the cords correctley. also, try pushing the "on" button. :) if this doesn't work call best buy or something and ask them

If it doesn't power up, something must be wrong with it. Return it as soon as possible.
