Assuming y'all are in US, it depends on the State you be at. If I were you, I'd go to Wikipedia and try to look it up. Or, post another question on Y! Answers that lets people know which state y'all are at, and maybe somebody who knows about the specific laws of that state can help. Good luck and beware of Allah's Wrath.

P.S. If it's consensual, and the young woman has all of her mental faculties, then I think it's perfectly OK, if y'all care about each other. The US laws regarding Age of Consent are to arbitrary, I think.

The man who is of the age of majority who made sex with a 17 year old committed a crime because the girl is still a minor. Thus, charges could be filed against him.

It all depends upon the state where you live. If you are 16 in Pennsylvania, for example, the person cannot be more than 3 years older, but it can differ.

yes, statutory rape in most states ps. "us" is not the word here, the law says that a child cannot give consent to an adult....17 is a child even though you both are acting like small children.....the adult is the one to be worried about......
