By FCC rules, all new phones need to be GPS capable for E911 purposes, so the iPhone will certainly be GPS capable out of the box.
The iPhone will probably not have a nav progam loaded out of the box. It probably will only be available through Cingular after downloading software and a willingness on your part to pay a monthly fee for the service.

All verizon cell phones come common with GPS now. Cingular does not have GPS till you purchase a GPS gadget to attatch on your telephone. iPhone received't have it common however it would want to have google maps, you'll basically must be the guy who places contained in the take care of your presently at, it received't inform you, and in case you want the GPS you've to spend the better $2 hundred for the atatchment. Helio come common with it. yet sprint, cingular, t-cellular, altell, do not.

I don't think its going to but it might depending upon the cellphone service . if you put in your zip code at this site, http://www.doiop.com/iphones , they'll tell you stores in your area with better prices than the 500$ retail price tag.
