Find this movie 1940-1960 maybe
2 guys movie into a apartment together the landlord sells it cheap the land lord says you guys can have this place but i only have 1 rule. "don’t open that door" the 2 men agree and one day one of the roommates opens the door and all it is, is a long hall way all black with a small light at the back and you see a person turn around and start walking towards the door really slowly. The room mate shut the door and tells the other room mate a while later (weeks) they have a party and everyone gets a bit drunk and someone asks what’s in the door and they tell them and he’s like no way, so they open it and the same thing happens again, they shut it “hey we should see who can keep it open the longest” so one person opens it and keep it open for a while and closes it and so on then this one guys holds it open till the guy in the hallway is like 5 feet from his face and he’s about to close it when all the lights go out and its over.

It sounds more like an episode of The Twilight Zone than an actual full length movie.

Try an independent video store. Somewhere in your town there should be one. Independent store clerks are real people who love movies. The one you find may not be a horror junkie but he may be able to point you in the right direction.
