Why should she have a good life just because her blood belongs to the royal family. What a load. I say make her work the rest of her life until she dies of old age. Anyone with me?

yes, i think it's a good idea, and she can get free food and if she doesn't need the money, she can donate her salary to charity.

Okay, so this question is obviously coming from someone without money. First off, a little fact... The queen actually makes approximately $45,000 a year because most of her money she already has. Second, why be angry at the queen when you could be angry at corporations paying a $50,000,000 holiday bonus to its CEO when other employees in the company are only making $8 an hour? That equates to approximately 3005% of the annual salary that $8 worker would make in one year. Some people have money, some people don't, but griping about it, or having the queen work at McDonald's won't get you any more of it than you already have. Finally, I have little money myself and instead of blaming those who are born with it, I think I'll just do my best to make my own.

She has a 'good life' due to luck of being born into the right family. Just like Bill Gates' kids, or George W Bush, or Mr Hilton's charming daughter.

Worthy? Maybe - probably not. If you're jealous thats fine and understandable, but get over it - go make your own money and become famous. Then other people can come onto Yahoo Answers and say that your freeloading kids should be made to clean toilets for eternity.

For god sakes! She's eighty! So, why not ask all rich and famous people to do the same? Actors? What are the doing to earn so much money? Play in a film, wear gorgeous clothes...enjoy being mean and horrible to the other people?
she is rich, so what, she has to listen to boring people, and keep on smiling...and she can't even decide of her onw time...she belongs to the country...
Now, is it worth having a royal familly in 2007? Perhaps not, but English people seem to like it, and she is a symbol to hold on...

No civilised country would expect an old lady of eighty to work on her feet all day in a place like Macdonalds. In fact, if old ladies were required to do that sort of job, there probably wouldn't be too many of them around, as they would die at a much earlier age. It is, in fact, quite foreseeable that in New Britain, where people are expected to work until they are seventy (and the age will probably go up in due course) there will be fewer old people around. Your question is utterly callous and unthinking.

In fact, the Queen is one of those rare people who do keep on working until they finally die. She has to sign piles of boring papers most days, deal with Tony Blair once a week, make speeches and attend all kinds of formal events where she must behave with immaculate dignity and charm, look perfectly well groomed, stand and talk to people and not put a foot wrong. Other people of her age can put their feet up and do their own thing and snap at those around them if they feel crotchety. She has to keep going!

I agree totally. To be honest, I don't even see why a royal family is necessary. All they do is take the taxpayer's money and get rich on it!

She has a good life because her forbears amassed wealth for themselves that they then passed to their descendants. Basic laws of property ownership and inheritance. Don't be mad just because *your* forbears weren't as fortunate.
