Not if you're on the internet; the longer you're on the internet the easier it is for hackers to enter your computer. If you won't be using it for awhile it is also best to shut everything down. It pulls lots of electricity & you will see a noticeable difference in your electric bill.

Generally, monitors have these energy saving mode which is automatically activated when the monitor is inactive for a specified amount of time - this function also helps prolong the monitor's life because the CRT (for those old type monitors) and the LCD is used less, thus rendering less utility on their delicate parts. Naturally, a monitor that is always ON would burn out those delicate parts reducing the quality of the image reflected on your monitors.

it depends on what you meen by leaving it on all the time, and is it OK.
if you turn off the computer the monitor acually turns off also, just the light on the front stays on to let you know its still there when you come home in the dark. if this is the case it should last for years. if you leave it on all day and night with the computer on and an image on the screen it may burn out quicker, but monitors still last years on an average even left on alot. but they do use alot of electricity, and heat up the house, so if you have air conditioning in your house its running to cool of the house just because you left the computer and monitor on.

It certainly is ok from a techincal standpoint. If there is always a constant image displayed more often than not you will ingrain that image into your monitor which causes a ghosting effect wrecking your image quality permanently. This only occurs with tube (CRT) monitors. Hence screensavers. LCD's on the other hand only have short projected lifespans before the backlight expires. So yes its ok as long as you realize the potential long term effects.

No , not ok,, Unless it has energy saving settings. Usually will go off within few minutes or so. If it's a CRT monitor it takes a lot more energy than LCD.

Its OK to leave a monitor ON all the time.No problems ll be caused to the hardware but it might dent a big hole in your pocket as electricity Bill.So better switch it off when it is not doing any productive work...

Anything electronic has a certain life-span, including monitors. Better to just use it during the day and shut it down at night.

Sure
However while the number of hours it will last is the same, if you turn it off it will last a longer number of months - years.
Save power, save money, save the environment - when not in use say overnight just turn the thing off.

It's ok as long as you run a screensaver but it costs you in your power/electric bill.
