How to make fanarts?

Question

well you know those fanarts? fans drawing pictures from mangas or animes. how did they do it? did they just draw it then scan to computer or do it on the computer since some have really nice coloring. if they do on comp, can anyone tell me what program do they use? much thanks

You should probably learn how to use photoshop and illustrator. The first drawing you showed looked like a regular pencil drawing with nothing done to it, scanned and if anything just cleaned up slightly. The second one may have been touched up with illustrator or photoshop (or both). This type of drawing usually takes a few years to master. I suggest taking some illustration classes.

Don't do it my way because it's probably the long and tedious way, but I draw, do a bit of the color and scan. Then I use Paint which is a basic program on all PCs and then print out and re-touch and scan again ...etc... I think you see where this is going. Anyway, that's the way I do it because I'm a control freak but there's probably a better way. Let me know if someone gives you a good answer ;)

from wut i hear, most people scan their sketches in and use a graphics editor program like photoshop which is as far as i know, the most popular one, to clean it up. people who make the really good fanarts like on the site deviantart do this. if u really want a crash course on it, u can go to good-tutorials.com and it'll show u how to make a fanart on photoshop, once u search around that is.
