I have heard that celebrating a person's birthday after the actual day is not good for that person. Is this just a myth or there is some truth in it? What is so bad about it?

It's superstition.

Hm. Interesting question. It's the first time I've ever heard of it being bad luck to celebrate a late birthday. Then again, you may only be affected by the bad luck if you're superstitious. Unless you're nonsuperstitious, you will pretty much surround yourself with so many beliefs that you'll no longer be able to keep up with what's good and what's bad. You'll drown yourself in believing something that isn't true and make way for bad things to happen to you b/c you'll leave yourself open to consequences since you'll be in such belief of the bad luck, that you'll actually allow anything that's bad to come in, just to prove your point that blah, blah, blah, was bad luck.

It is a myth and one can celebrate their birthday as long as it is in the same month. Now for me my birthday is on the 15 and I celebrate it until the end of the month and it works too. It help one to get lots of gifts that they did not get original on their actual birthday.

Hey...if I'm away on my b'day and someone wants to throw me a party or celebrate when I get back..heck no, it's not bad luck. It's good luck that they care enough..(plus, more presents..hehe). Besides...I DO believe that's a myth.

If it is planned ahead, it is not cursed by bad luck. Bad luck is relative to the situation. If it wasn't planned ahead and then ended up being moved, it could be a bad sign and then you should wait till the following year.

I hope not. In the 11 years of being married to my husband he has been home for my birthday twice (he is in the military) so we usually end up celebrating early or late.

Nope, cause when I was a kid my parents would always plan my birthday parties for the Saturday or Sunday after my birthday. No biggie with me!
