I thought the answer was (y+1)(y+1) but itz not....HELP

it is (y-1)(y-1)
because (y-1)(y-1)=y^2-y -y+1 =y^2-2y+1 the same you had up
so the proplem is right

(Y+1) (y+1) = Y^2 +2y +1

you got the idea but not the signs correctly. It's (y-1)(y-1) because when you multiply it out the -y's become -2y

it has to be (y-1)(y-1) because it is subtracting two, not adding to, and when two negatives are multiplied, they turn positive
