When I put my car in neutral the rpm drops very low and stalls out at a stop. Sometimes it doesn't do it at all. I got new spark plugs and wires, oil change, pcv valve, a new air filfter, and I checked all the fluids. I gotten a new battery b/c the old one had a dead cell, so the idling work just fine for about 2 months, now it's doing it again! I'm thinking the idle cables just needed to be adjusted. No check engine light is on. Other than that the car rides like it's brand new!

rpm's should be at 750 at idle..this is one mark below 1 on the indicator..when you installed the new battery, you might have fixed something you didn't know about...do this.. check to make sure that everything from the air filter box, to the throttle body is secure..no clamps loose..and make sure you are not hearing any type of vacuum leak..if none found then you might have a problem with your throttle position sensor, or idle air control, or fuel delivery, or a/c step up solenoid, or maybe slight skip, the list could go on..but you might see if this help.. put a pint of marvel mystery oil into the gas tank (1/4) or below.. this will help clean the fuel injection system. Hope this helps..

It might need to have the air intake cleaned.
