I'm not too sure, I've been to a winter formal before but my hair was in curls and I don't think I want to do that again. my dress is strapless, here it is here:

I feel that when a woman works her hair too much to dress up it is not a good thing. When I was younger I perfered the ladies to wear their hair the way I meet them. That is one of the reasons I asked them out. ALso I happen to like straight hair on person who wear it well.

First of all, WOW that dress is perfect! Just perfect. Secondly, if I hadnt looked at your attached photo, or read your read your second set of details, Id have answered this question differently. I've never thought about straight hair for a formal event. BUT, after seeing the attire, and given the shape of your face, I do think that medium length straight hair would be the Cherry on the Sundae for your look. Just do one thing....make sure its shiny!

I would wear your hair up. It is an occasion. Depends on the dress and what sort of formal it is. Also the correct wording in the question is inappropriate not "un appropriate". Sorry, I can't stand wrong wording like that. Typos are a different story.

Straight will be cute, but I'd use some cute clips or something to dress your hair up. Maybe just one little clip on one side or pull a little at the top back. Something with rhinestones would look good if you have dark hair. If you are blond, I'd go with something with black stones. Pearls would work for any hair color and it looks like your dress already has some.

The hair style should compliment the facial features of the woman.

If the hair is straight, so what? As long as it's clean and compliments a woman.

curls would compete with your dress. personally if I was wearing this dress I would do a nice chignon/french twist. show off your shoulders.

the dress looks great but I dont think you need to worry about your hair. make it look neat and style and it will be fine.

No, its not dressy enough for winter formal. Try an up-do.. it dosent have to be curls.
