Well, this is what it says on Wikipedia:
"A custodian, in the United States, is a person that cleans and maintains large buildings, and in this respect it may be synonymous with janitor. Custodians may be paid larger salaries than janitors and have a higher degree of training and licensing, as well as greater responsibilities" (Custodian 1).
So basically, a CUSTODIAN is a highly paid janitor who also guards the building and is more qualified. BUT, as we all know, with great responsibility comes great power. (OK, it's vice versa, big deal.)

"custodian"? from the root word "custody" which means to be in charge of or under the supervision of one. Custodian - master of the custodial arts, the ruler of the sweeping broom, he of the cleanliness order, or a janitor if u wanna be a jerk about it.

I think that you mean custodian.

Which means a person entrusted with guarding or maintaining a property; janitor.

i think you mean custodian
but it depend how you are using the word because it can mean either a guardian of someone or a janitor

its really just a fancy word for janitor. they do the same thing, clean, but i think its all about the title,

If you mean "custodian", then word really means "keeper" (from the root "custody").
