When I started my period, I was 12 and was at my dad's house for the weekend. My dad had gone to the store, and I found out that I started, so I just called up my mom and said, "Hey, I think I started my period." After that she came and picked me up, we bought some "feminine supplies", and everything was fine. While it's scary when you first realize that you started, it's really no big deal. Just find her when she's alone and tell her, "Mom, I started my period, and I need some pads/tampons"... something like that. It's really okay... and your dad doesn't necessarily HAVE to know. With your friends... just tell them when you're ready.

You don't need to tell anybody if you don't want to. It's entirely your own business. However you mom may be able to help you with any questions you might have. Just tell her, she's been through it too remember.
Congratulations on taking the first steps to becoming a woman.

It's hard to tell your parents something pesonal about yourself because either, you are scare of what they might say or react or you don't have that much trust for them. I think that you should tell your mom because she has been thruogh that stuff when she was younger. Just be honest with her and tell how straight up how things are.

Just tell your mom. If you are young she might freak out but if you have to show her proof. She can then tell your dad. My first time was when I was ten. My mama had told me to keep an eye out for it though. I didn't want to tell her but I did.

It's nothing to be ashamed of or alarmed about. If anything, just make sure you tell your mom. Besides, it's such a suspenseful moment to see her daughter maturing :)

Well, first of all I would talk with your parents about it. And go from there. Im sure they would talk with you about what is going on. Get them to explain to you what is going on. And then if you are comfortable you can talk with your friends about it. Good luck.
If you sit and ponder about how you are going to say it. Then it will come out all wrong. Just say it.

I'd tell your mom, just so she knows to buy you some femenine products, but you don't really have to tell anyone else... unless you want to.
your mom wil really understand, though. i mean, she's been there too!
