I do due to the fact that i live in an area which is half council houses and half privatly owned, We work hard to maintain our home and standard of living whil the other chavs who are council tenents do not care about theire dwellings and the area they live, i am at constant logerheads with local yobs for vandalism and am on the verge of vigalantie behaviour in order to sort the neighbouurhood out, I admit not all council chavs are there by choice but the majority do take the mickey claiming while working cash in hand when they can be bothered. I think it is acase of moral upbringing, scum breads scum. We must work as a society to breed a little more class and pride into our communities.

Council homes, or government-assisted housing (for those in the USA), is certainly not something that should cause you to look down upon a person. Without housing like that you would have people living on the street and you don't know the situation that put them there. Not to mention, the council houses made homes for people after World War II, as you will find on www.wikipedia.org. Never look down at the working class as you may just find yourself there some day.
Also, your name says taxi driver and I'm just wondering how a taxi driver can look down at the working class?

No If you look around a council estate they usually have better cars and, often ,more disposable income than anyone else, because they do not have big mortgages to pay.
I was a homeowner, then I became bankrupt, then I had a council house, now I,m a homeowner again. Don,t knock people who live in council houses, they're not always there of their own volition.

Yes - it really pisses me off too. I get no sleep because the people who live next door to my terraced house are lay-abouts on the dole who have sex-athons all night long. Then I have to get up in the morning to work so I can pay my mortgage, taxes etc (which goes to paying THEIR dole and housing benefit - oh and their 'disability' benefit car), while they can lie in bed and do whatever all day long. It REALLY gets on my goat. We have a really logical government - NOT !!!

why do you look down on people who lives in council house??
do you look down on poor people?? Could it be that you do not
expect to have what you may have and you are letting it get to your head so you are looking down on others?? in other words,
you think you are better than others that's wrong because you need every one and every one needs you and every one need each other so come down to earth and be cool. People who lives
in there own home is no defrent from those in council house they are the same Humanbeen so start to think positively OK??

no. i live in a council house myself and get my rent paid for me. which leaves me lots of extra dosh to furnish and accessorise my gorgeous home, with my polished timberland flooring right through. whereas your liable to be turning your nose up but your probably spending money on your council tax, mortgage etc,and probably dont even change your underwear. class is something a person already has,you dont gain it by the area in which you live or by simply being a homeowner,my dear fellow.whats more,i bet you live your life by plastic, and drive round in a flash car thats not even paid for. look down your nose, indeed!may i suggest you take a look at your bank balance instead! adios amigos!

No as council house dweller, and as a member of the advanced drivers institute I look down on taxi drivers.
It's the job that anyone who can't do anything worthwhile does.

Nope but did you ever considering sharing your home with some of these people since you obviously are a little better off financially than they are at the moment.
