The ferries don't run in the winter months even though the lake is not frozen.( It hasn't been cold enough yet)

The town of Put-in-Bay, Ohio in Lake Erie is open year round. There is an airport there too. However it is not much fun in the winter, summer is the time to go and have more fun. Do a google or Yahoo search and learn more.

I was just there. a month ago. If the ferries are not running and the lake is frozen, you can drive there if the ice is thick enough on the lake. My friend is in the Coast Guard there. I went to visit him and thats one of the places we went to. If you really want to know call the coast guard for the area.

I think they stop running since it gets all icy...I could be wrong though. That place is beautiful. I went camping there for a week with my girlfriend and had the time of my life.
