Certainly a good buy with the specifications presented. On the other hand, some issues need to be raised and answered before purchasing, like why is it being sold? how is it going to be used by the buyer? etc.

I suppose that the 'best buy' category of an item does not necessarily reflect on how much you pay for it but how well it fits your needs and utilization of the equipment. I would go for a laptop that may cost twice but would provide me with dependability and efficient utility rather than buy a low-cost laptop that eventually you would need to add some more extras to make it function on how you need it.

This laptop would be all right. An SD card reader is the slot that you can put the sd cards in. it should allow you to write over the files that are on the card and to copy files from it. fire wire is a faster version of a usb port, but uses less electricity, i think. not too sure on that. personally i would say just to spend a little bit more money and get something that has a lot more things in it, and a close price. for example dell laptops are maybe a couple hundred dollars more, but come with better processor, battery, bigger ram and hard drive. not necessarily more usb or firewire ports. most likely bluetooth and some form of a media card reader. by the way sd stands for secure digital, which is used in a lot of different things like cameras and phones.

I just got my cousin a computer which was a Pentium 4 - 512 mgs ram, 60 gig, DVD and CD burner, USB, firewire (that's for cams), (no bluetooth but do you need it)..... (the SD card reader is for camera 'film'...but there are other options). 15" widescreen and Windows home for $475 delivered.

It's not a bad deal.... what you're paying for is the Windows Professional (which most people will never use unless they know what they're doing)..... Bluetooth is nice if you are going to use wireless things (like phone, keyboard, mouse).

Computers are like owning a car...Buying it is the cheap part - getting the software is the expensive part.

The best way to check is to go to eBay and look up the laptops there. You can look by certain specifications and make sure you are looking at ones like yours. You will see what people are paying for that kind of computer. You will get a good idea if you're getting a good deal.

You don't have to buy it from eBay, but this let's you check out the market for any used items you are looking to buy.

What is the speed for the processor? You better choose at least 2.0 GH for laptop. For me, the processor speed is the most important thing.

The other things like RAM etc you can upgrade it later but once you've bought the laptop, its very expensive to change the processor with a new one and the old processor, you'll probably just throw it.

it's going to be very gradual with homestead windows XP. Even common products like booting up would be gradual. Firewall is going with the instantaneous connection bluetooth. in case you're at Starbucks case in point, you have unfastened information superhighway get right of entry to (utilising bluetooth) with out somebody with the flexibility to hack into your computing gadget (simply by firewall). The SD card reader is so which you will plug on your reminiscence card (i'm calling them enjoying cards considering's what they appear as if even regardless of the incontrovertible fact that they are called sandisks) out of your digicam in the adventure that your digital camera makes use of such enjoying cards/disks. some cameras use reminiscence sticks which you put in the USB port.

Looks like a good buy to me.

Firewire is a high-speed connection (not for internet)

SD Card Reader is for a SD Memory card.

It seems a little expensive for me considering the hard drive it has and th ram. I'm not a computer geek but i know enough not to buy a computer like that one for that much, hope I helped.

For a second hand product, the price is more. Thats the price of a new product with the same configuration.
