Sourav Ganguly for captain!
Sourav Ganguly's ability to polarise opinion led to one of the most fascinating dramas in Indian cricket. Yet, nobody can dispute that he was India's most successful Test captain - forging a winning unit from a bunch of talented, but directionless, individuals When he took over the captaincy after the match-fixing exposes in 2000, he quickly proved to be a tough, intuitive and uncompromising leader. Under his stewardship India started winning Test matches away, and put together a splendid streak that took them all the way to the World Cup final in 2003.

If he gets a chance then its not a bad idea but I feel Saurav should now pay more attention to his batting. He will always be the best captain of India.

Having seen a number of answers, I need to ask the people who have responded a few questions before giving a reply. My question to all is "Why did Chappell go against Ganguly ?" The honest answer is that Ganguly was to strong a character for Chappell. Dravid on the other hand was a great batsman but a weak leader and therefore Chappell supported him. Ganguly can put the steel back into the team which Dravid can never do.

Certainly. But what about Mr. Dravid's appointment as captain in 2007 WC. Don't forget that he was appointed by Mr. Kiran More who once said Saurav Ganguly will never come back to the side. Now let's see whether Mr. Vengsarkar can appoint Ganguly as captain. It not Mr. Pawar should intervene, because as a captain Mr. Dravid's performance is worst. How dare he orders Ganguly to go back to his fieldiing position when Dada was motivating Zaheer in his bowlong run-up. Everybody will accept that Sourav knows how to motivate Zaheer and knows it better than Dravid.

Sourav is the born captain. If he stays in the team he should be the captain. Last couple of series we can see that captaincy pressure is engulfing batsman Dravid. We dont want to loose the barsman Dravid. And Cummon Sourav is the best ever Indian Captain.

I think that Saurav should become Captain again but he has to regain his confidence. I am sure but he has to play more cricket. It will help him to improve his game as well as stability within team. He has to play good.

Sourav is the best captain India's ever had. Yes............THE BEST. Dravid is a superb batsman but a weak captain. But Sourav is superb in both spheres. So why not put Sourav as captain and allow him to lead the team to the World Cup 2007 trophy?

Of course! He was & is the best as far as the captaincey is concerned. His perfrmance with bat deterioted & hence he was removed from the team. But he has improved that too. He has a strong will power & he is a good motivator as such The management must assign the captaincey to him.
