Japan is kicking their butts. Why??

I think it might have something to do with the fact that the big three cant make there crap last. You can buy a import that will last 3 times longer for the same or less money. The health ins that the big 3 is paying is also adding to the price of the cars its somewere from 1500 to 2000 per auto. Toytas health ins is paid for by there goverment. Workers in the us auto manufactuers are making 20+ dollers an hour. I dont know what the import guys are paying but I assume its less. The asians are know for there efficincey and look at us americans we are know for exsess. you may all hate me for saying this but I think alot of what we do here and how we live is why the big three is in the boat there in. I drive a dodge pickup. owned three gm and three fords and I was happy with all of them. But when it comes down to it the imports know there s***.

They design and build really boring and sometimes ugly (Chevy Malibu) cars. Mechanically there is little difference between imports and domestic and though beauty is only skin deep, skin is all you get to see. Even Japan is turning out more and more yawners lately but the perception that their cars are better than domestics still linger. Unless the big three can find a way to get people into their showrooms they are all going to sink.

The USA's Big 3 have been losing to the Japanese for along time because the Japanese have found a way to produce vehicles both more fuel efficient and cheaper because American car companies look at total profit more than anything. The Big 3 have had a market stranglehold in this country for along time, now they realise that they can't keep up. Give me an Import anyday over a piece of crap Ford or GM

Quality isn't job 1. People's experience counts and more often than not, people have great luck with the reliability and quality of cars from Japan. The same can't be said of the big three.

In your Statement proves your Not very smart....
Ford Own's more Automotive lines Than you know...
I like their Mazda's and Jag's and I like there F350 trucks...
I even like the Ztec Focus,, little pocket rocket car.
GM I like Pontiac's The new SuperChargered G5 Will blow any little Import you can drum up.... Also the GTO-R will smoke anything you can drum up on the street...

They (Big 3) use unionized labor. People get promoted or higher wages just bc they were there longer, not bc of quality of work.

there not really losers ,,there gaining back on the foreign car makers,,it just takes time,,once you fall behind,,you just don't wake up one day and your ahead again,,it takes a lot of time,,their surviving,,and they,ll do better ,in time,,good luck.
