Since I just had heart surgery my friends have been bringing me some movies. My friend gave me a bootleg copy of the movie "freedom writers" starring Hillary Swank(i think thats her last name?) Well anyways I thought this movie was so good. It expressed how all these high school gangs started and how they all thought it was cool to be accepted to gangs for i guess security. When you think about all these gang members aren't experiencing anything. Have they been through the holocaust? NO! I think that a person who can wipe out many countries is more scarier then some punka** gang who does not know anything about being a "gangster" What do you think about this one?

Well, read it and weep.... it's true story.... it happens to be about a caucasion girl - not black..... If she were black, it'd be about a black teacher. There are lots of movies similar - but this one was true and I think the teacher made an impact using her knowledge in a way that the students related to.

I thought it was an excellent movie - and it has nothing to do with race. It's about the human spirit and how - if given a chance - people WANT to do good......and can raise themselves to a different level. We just need real leaders.

Good evening, I hope you are recovering. Heart surgery, wow, that really makes a person think about things. I haven't seen it yet but I empathize with what you said about it. I've never lived in a city where there are gangs, I don't know much about them, I've been to a few and once got mistook for some rival gang guy when I was in LA but talked my way out of it. I do know about the holocaust, although I wasn't alive my relatives were and tell me stories about people in the pictures that were executed. I wish you all the best for a healthy future, I think you have a great mind.

It looks just like Dangerous Minds, which I haven't seen, and am not interested in this one, either. I though Dangerous Minds was based on a true story, but I don't know about this one. I can only assume this one is based on a true story and that's why it seems like just a remake of a previous movie.

Sorry, not my type, I'd deffinately won't see that film. I'm more into mobster films, and the only good one they made out recently was 'the departed.'

Honestly, I don't want to see it because I think it's ridiculous. Why does it have to be a Caucasian woman that "saves" the minorities from the "ghetto"? Why can't it be an educated minority?
